Course convenors: Professor Duncan Tennent, Mr Magnus Arnander and Mr Yemi Pearse, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, St George’s HospitalCPD: 10 credits (applied for)Aimed at senior trainees, fellows and consultants with an interest in upper limb trauma, this hands-on cadaveric course offers the opportunity to develop skills and confidence in approaches to the shoulder girdle in the context of trauma. It will focus on approaches and techniques for treatment of injuries to the shoulder joint, ACJ, clavicle and scapula. Sponsorship from companies will ensure different implants and equipment will be available to allow training in these. There will be some interactive academic/case based content from the faculty, with the emphasis on hands-on training in the cadaveric lab, and sharing of tips and tricks.This will be complemented by a similar course next year focusing on the elbow.
