He graduated from Queen’s and is Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London as well as the European Board of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.His interests are in early disease diagnoses through application of ‘electronic nose’ technology and artificial neural networking. He leads a dedicated research group and is chief investigator of the ‘FAMISHED’ study which seeks to identify early markers of disease.Nationally he is deputy lead for the West Midlands Comprehensive Research Network and chair of the Small Bowel and Nutrition section of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
