focused training to primary care GPs and Nurses, covering all
you need to know to provide eye care in the community.
Your Course will be led by one of the following tutors:
Miss Stella Hornby MA (Cantab) MB BChir FRCOphth MD
Miss Stella Hornby has 15 years of experience in ophthalmology
and is an Associate Specialist in Oxford. She runs the eye
emergency department in the Oxford Eye Hospital. She has a
particular interest in primary care ophthalmology and is
particularly known for her skills in diagnosis and her ‘down to
earth’ common sense approach to medicine. She has also had a
long standing interest in low vision and promoting education
about ophthalmology. She was recently awarded an “Excellent
Teacher Award” by the medical sciences division of Oxford
Dr Andrew Partner BM DCH DRCOphth MRCGP
Dr Andrew Partner is a full-time GP with a special interest in
Ophthalmology. He was also the RCGP Curriculum Guardian for
the eye statement and the RCGP representative on the strategic
advisory group of the UK Vision Strategy up until recently. He
has extensive experience teaching GPs and believes Primary
Care is well placed to manage many eye conditions in the
Dr Anup Shah BMBS DRCOG MRCOphth MRCGP PGCE (Health)
Dr Anup Shah trained in Ophthalmology obtaining his
Membership to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2006.
He obtained his Membership to the Royal College of General
Practitioners in 2010. He now works as a GP Principal in
Hertfordshire and a GPSI in Ophthalmology with the Moorfields
Eye Hospital. He is a Trainer in Primary Care with the East of
England Deanery.
