We know students benefit from face to face contact with a trainer, a chance to ask questions, and networking with other students. So pick a start date to suit – you can still join the cohort and benefit from our great education! This Enhancing Diabetes Care in Professional Practice Short Course is accredited by the University of Hertfordshire and is taught at Level 6/Degree level. This multi-professional course focuses upon the assessment and management of the individual with, or at risk of developing, diabetes and its precursor, metabolic syndrome. It will focus on the prevention, recognition and management of metabolic syndrome and diabetes.Importance is placed on a patient centred approach, the health needs of the individual, health promotion and self-empowerment, whilst acknowledging the professional, political and social climate within which services are provided. On completion of the course, successful students will be able to suggest, initiate and vary treatment in response to individual needs. They will demonstrate sound knowledge of the literature relevant to diabetes and metabolic syndrome in relation to cardiovascular complications and an insight into the strategic approaches to delivery of care, to empower them to participate effectively in managing patients with or at risk of developing diabetes. Our courses are removed from the website at least two days before the start date, so that students have all necessary information for their studies when they begin. Many of our courses fill quickly and are removed once all places are sold so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment.Course DetailsAssessment Method: 2,000 word written portfolio and 3,000 word case studyStudy Method: Distance learning (includes 2 study days)Duration: 6 monthsNo. of Credits: 30 at Level 6Accrediting Institution: University of Hertfordshire
