This study day will provide delegates with an update on common paediatric dermatological and rheumatological conditions. The day will teach paediatric trainees about aetiology, diagnosis and management of common paediatric dermatological and rheumatological conditions.topics include:Aetiology, diagnosis and management of common paediatric skin infectionsRecognise and refer appropriate children with pigmentary and vascular birthmarksBeing aware of recent evidence in the management of paediatric eczema, be able to demonstrate how to apply topical emollients; understand the different potencies of topical steroids and of their side effectsSigns of skin failure and when to consult dermatology, ophthalmology and other specialistsTake an appropriate history, musculoskeletal examination and assessmentThe role of multidisciplinary teams and other professionals involved in the care of children with musculoskeletal conditionsComplications of immunosuppressive treatmentThe association of musculoskeletal presentations and common chronic diseases (such as psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease)The disease associations of rheumatological conditions, in particular juvenile arthritis and eye disease
