Description

Led by expert practising clinicians, the Asthma Update workshop focuses on the most up-to-date evidence for supporting patients in controlling their asthma and avoiding exacerbation, including the new NRAD recommendations.

Through interactive, practical sessions and group discussions, you will gain the skills required to identify those at risk of asthma exacerbation, to manage asthma in specific groups such as children and adolescents, and to understand the latest treatment options, including the advantages and disadvantages of new inhaler devices. You will be able to apply these skills with confidence in your own area of clinical practice.

You will learn to:

Apply the latest BTS/SIGN guidelines and standards
Understand the latest recommendations on asthma diagnosis
Provide treatment options and advise on the choice of inhaler devices
Identify the advantages and differences between new inhaler devices
Assess related conditions/issues e.g. allergic rhinitis and occupational asthma
Recognise patients at risk of developing acute asthma
Work with patients to prevent acute exacerbations of asthma
Assess and manage acute asthma
Our courses are removed from the website at least two days before the start date, so that students have all necessary information for their studies when they begin. Many of our courses fill quickly and are removed once all places are sold so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment
